The Forestry Commission have chosen their top 10 secret spots, where everyone can enjoy a little bit of autumn.
These new autumn colour hotspots form part of the Forestry Commission’s “Feel Good Autumn” initiative, in partnership with mental health charity Mind. The new campaign aims to inspire people to spend time in the forest to boost their wellbeing, after 94% of respondents to a Mind survey said green exercise had benefited their mental health.
The Forestry Commission, in collaboration with Mind, have developed top tips and activities for practising mindfulness in the forest. Events and workshops from forest yoga to Nordic walking groups, guided bike rides and buggy fit are being held across the country to get the nation outdoors and active this autumn.
For keen leaf peepers, you can watch the colour change and pick the perfect time to visit a forest near you with the autumn colour map.
