Good Cause Flip-flops!

Funky holiday footwear that allows you to support a good cause, Gandys flip-flops are a cut above your average beach shoes.

And that’s not all. These limited edition versions will make the ideal gift for the motorsport fan in your life. Gandys have teamed up with the McLaren Formula 1 team to create these very cool blue and yellow flip-flops, which with the strapping across the top actually look kind of similar to the new halo safety device that features prominently on all F1 cars!

Proceeds from the limited edition brand will go directly to the Orphans for Orphans foundation, helping children who live in perilous situations. I plan to test a pair on a holiday to Italy very soon, and as a big F1 fan myself, I can’t wait to try them out.

Gandys co-founder Rob Forkan said,

We were absolutely thrilled when McLaren came to us with this idea. When we started Gandys we started working on a small scale, helping a few children. Now we are helping more and more vulnerable children around the world. We hope the halo will have a similar impact in F1, as we know if it only saves one life to begin with, it will go on to have a wider impact.

Gandys is a travel-inspired, charitable clothing brand founded by two brothers, Rob and Paul Forkan, who tragically lost their parents in the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami. They set up Gandys by designing flip-flops from their bedroom, hoping that they would one day be able to open homes for under-privileged children in memory of their parents. As of last year, the brothers have now been able to open two of these, one in Malawi, and the other in Sri Lanka.

Having worn them at home during the recent heatwave here in the UK, I can confirm the limited edition flip-flops are indeed very comfy. A top summer buy for anyone heading for the sun, or just relaxing in the back garden – and all for a very worthy cause!
