Mary & George

March 5 on Sky

Based on a true story, the Countess of Buckingham encourages her son, George, to seduce King James I. George becomes the king’s all-powerful lover with the single goal of making his own family richer and more established, as well as an influential part of England’s future.


Why Planes Vanish: The Hunt for MH370

Wednesday 6th March, 8pm, BBC One

This one-off documentary looks into the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight MH370, for which search efforts stopped years ago. Ten years after the aircraft disappeared with 239 passengers and crew on board on 8 March 2014, this documentary features interviews with relatives of the missing, aviation experts, former Malaysian Airlines employees, and current and former.


The Marlow Murder Club

Wednesday 6th March, 8pm, Drama and UKTV Play

This new two-part murder mystery series comes from Death in Paradise creator Robert Thorogood and is based on his best-selling novel The Marlow Murder Club. Starring Samantha Bond, Cara Horgan and Jo Martin as three Marlow residents who collectively investigate a murder in their hometown.


The Girls On The Bus

March 14 on Max

Four female journalists find friendship, love and scandal as they follow a parade of flawed American political candidates in an unpredictable presidential campaign. The show’s main protagonist Sadie worships old-school journalism and Timothy Crouse’s campaign book, The Boys on the Bus (1973), hence the show title. This fictional story is loosely based on Amy Chozick’s experience as a reporter for The New York Times, which is retold in her 2018 non-fiction book Chasing Hillary.


The Gentlemen

March 7 on Netflix

Based on the 2019 film The Gentlemen, this story takes place in the same world but with new characters. Here Theo James plays Eddie Horniman, Duke of Halstead, who inherits an estate and finds himself drawn into the criminal world.
