Bridgerton (season three)

May 16 on Netflix

The much anticipated third season of the Bridgerton is finally here… and it’s so full of drama that been split into two parts! This season follows on from Penelope and Colin’s fallout at the Featherington ball after she overheard her long-time love interest joking with group of bachelors about how he would never court her. Our leading lady of the season is also struggling with the distance that has grown between her and best friend Eloise who is now happily making new connections, leaving Penelope behind. All of this upheaval becomes a catalyst of change for Penelope! This season she takes charge of her own destiny and undergoes a “glow up”, which attracts the attention of various suitors. However, her heart still lies with Colin who in the process of trying to reconcile their friendship by helping her find a husband discovers this own feelings for Penelope.


Bodkin

May 9 on Netflix

A brand new dark comedy follows an unusual group of podcasters bonded by their desire for answers. Together they investigate the mysterious disappearance of three strangers in an idyllic, coastal Irish town. As they dig deeper, they uncover surprising information that’s somehow weirder than fiction. Over the course of 7 episodes, whole story starts taking some very odd twists and turns.


The Responder (season two)

We pick up six months after season one ended. Following Chris Carson again as he attempts to rebuild his life, and his relationships. After narrowly avoiding the corruption that nearly sucked him under, he is now trying to be a better police officer, a better man, and a better father to his daughter Tilly. It’s starting to look like Chris needs to escape the role of night response officer and find a day job instead if he’s to have any chance of keeping his head above water.


The Veil

This six-part thriller follows two women caught up in deadly web of indecipherable truths and lies. Award-winning actress Elizabeth moss (The Handmaid’s Tale) stars as Imogen, a spy experiencing an identity crisis as she’s sent on a new job to a UN refugee camp on the Turkey/Syria border. Yumna Marwan plays a woman called Adilah who is accused of being an ISIS operative hiding among the camp’s displaced widows and children. Imogen’s job is to figure out if Adilah is who everyone claims she is, or if there’s more to the story.


Granite Harbour (season two)

Available now on BBC iPlayer

The series revolves around RMP Sergeant Davis Lindo (Romario Simpson), who arrived in Aberdeen in season 1 as a new recruit to Police Scotland and worked alongside DS Lara ‘Bart’ Bartlett (Hannah Donaldson). Season 2 will follow a young refugee woman tied up in a huge drug operation after her husband disappears from the ship they snuck on to. As this new drug sweeps the city, the team begin investigating what exactly happened onboard the ship and who’s involved.
