Join in the fun this National Storytelling Week

This annual event of storytelling runs from January 27 to February 4, 2024 and its aim is to inspire all ages to enjoy storytelling in all its forms. If you have children or grandchildren, you may have heard them talking about this week long event, as many schools are involved. It may even be something you can enjoy with your younger family members. There are events and workshops up and down the country for all age groups throughout the week to inspire anyone interested in storytelling.

Storytelling events and workshops

There are many ways to participate in this celebration of the spoken and written word. Look out for events taking place in your local area – search for #NationalStorytellingWeek or visit your local library and ask if they will be involved.

Or why not simply enjoy a favourite book or poem and share your thoughts in a book group, with friends or on an online forum?

Or could this be the time you begin your storytelling journey, by writing a journal, or creating a piece of work for yourself, or to share with others?
